Magic: the Gathering - Vronos
At the top - awesome art by Chippy with the remaining images from the Magic 2015 - Duels of the Planeswalkers trailer showing a sticky end for the Planeswalker Vronos - BUT - just who was Vronos anywhooos ?? For all things storyline, pop on over to Doug Beyer’s Tumblr - for now, here’s the 4.1.1. from the MTGSalvation Wiki -
Vronos, nicknamed the Grey Fencer, was an Elite Inquisitor from Innistrad. When he was attacked by a pack of young werewolves his planeswalker’s spark ignited and he ended up wounded on Alara where he was studied by the Vedalken Ethersworn. Vronos demanded a high price in return: knowledge. He uncovered some of the lore within the sacred Texts, learned the basic nature of a strange metal and its long-lost creator, and practiced the arcane arts of the metal-working wizards. He repaired his ravaged face with an etherium infix and crafted a filigreed mask of the same material.
After many months of study and travel, he returned to Innistrad as a penitent. He was then charged by Avacyn to find the cursed Garruk Wildspeaker so that she could heal him. He failed and was killed by Garruk instead.
my favorite ship is Weiss/Blake or Ruby/Blake to be honest
but if I had to choose one to be canon I would probably choose Weiss/Ruby
because you know how in most shows and stuff, you see a male protagonist and a female protagonist and the writers basically throw it in your face??? that THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SHIP YOU SHOULD BE INVESTED IN THESE TWO ARE ROMANTICALLY INTERESTED IN EACH OTHER FIRST GIRL WINS FIRST BOY WINS
I want that but with two girls. I want it to be so normalized that we almost roll our eyes when the two female protagonists— literally!— bump into each other on their first day of school because we know it’s going to be canon. I want the straight ship treatment.
Plus, having a queer leading titular protagonist would make so many homophobes angry, and I’m all about doing things that make homophobes angry.
Though to be honest, Id also be happy with NO ROMANCE WHATSOEVER. Just on-screen, irrefutable confirmation that a character is queer is enough for me. (Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean they have to be in a relationship.)
Like how no one in the show is in a relationship right now, but we do see Neptune showing clear interest in girls. Something like that.
but what if jacket and biker were friends
"— I was just helping it train."
As some of you might already have guessed, I’m a fan of Japanese girl idols. One of the many, many idol groups in existence today in Japan is NMB48, a Osaka-based spin-off group of the (in)famous AKB48. NMB has a weekly show that’s surprisingly entertaining as well as educational called NMB to Manabu-kun, in which the members of NMB and a few comedians listen to guest lectures by experts in various fields.
Back on May 15th, the theme of the episode was pataphysics/the science of sci-fi. One of the topics of the lecture held by university professor Yanagita Rikao was the age-old question of "WHY ARE MAGICAL GIRLS NEVER ATTACKED WHILE TRANSFORMING???"
This was his answer, based on the magical girl series Futari wa Pretty Cure.
Question: The transformation scenes in Pretty Cure are very long, so why don’t the bad guys attack the girls in the meantime?
"Even when I was little, I was thinking ‘Hey! Attack them now!’"
"I found this odd as well, so I watched the transformation scene many times. And what I noticed is, when the Pretty Cures yell ‘Dual Aurora Wave!’ and transform, a rainbow-colored column of light shoots up from the ground, going BOOM!"
"And then the Pretty Cures levitate, and go up into the air. Based on this, I believe the protagonists of Pretty Cure are being held up in the air by the power of light.”
"When we think of light, we usually think it heats up things or lights up things. But in reality, light has the power to hold up things as well."
"When the sun is beating down on us in the summer, the human body is being pressed downwards by the sun beams with a force of 2/100,000g.”
"But this is only about a one-hundred of the weight of a mosquito, so no matter how hot it is, we don’t feel that sunlight is heavy."
"So that means the light holding them up must be extremely strong. If we assume that the two Pretty Cures each weigh about 45kg and do some calculations…”
"It means the light during the transformation must have the energy of 2,100,000,000kW per 1m2.”
"While the entirety of power that Japan is capable of generating is only 100,000,000kW.”
"So they’re using 21 TIMES the amount of energy the whole of Japan can generate.”
"So what would happen if a bad guy jumped in to try to sabotage their transformation?"
"He would EVAPORATE INSTANTLY.”
“DEATH AWAITS ANYONE WHO DARES TO DISRUPT A PRETTY CURE TRANSFORMATION.”
"So this means the best thing to do would be to transform close to any bad guys."
"Yes. They are the strongest while they transform, and are practically invincible.”
Casual reminder that in one of Leonardo da Vinci’s many notebooks containing innumerable artistic and scientific sketches and notes of incomprehensible important, there is a sketch of two penises with legs and tails walking towards a crudely drawn anus.
The sketch was most likely done by Leonardo’s apprentice Salai, who was not only very likely one of Leonardo’s lovers, but who was also infamously mischievous. Better yet, the anus is literally labeled “Salai.”
So either Salai drew these while Leonardo wasn’t looking just to annoy his boyfriend, or Leonardo himself put actual time and energy into drawing these. Either way, the human race is truly blessed to have made such a discovery.
There are dick drawings like the ones you see on desks in school in Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks. Please cherish this information.
In the midst of exploring Renaissance Italy history for reasons, I have found a wonder.
Here’s a thing I’ve had around in my head for a while!
Okay, so I’m pretty sure that by now everyone at least is aware of Steampunk, with it’s completely awesome Victorian sci-fi aesthetic. But what I want to see is Solarpunk – a plausible near-future sci-fi genre, which I like to imagine as based on updated Art Nouveau, Victorian, and Edwardian aesthetics, combined with a green and renewable energy movement to create a world in which children grow up being taught about building electronic tech as well as food gardening and other skills, and people have come back around to appreciating artisans and craftspeople, from stonemasons and smithies, to dress makers and jewelers, and everyone in between. A balance of sustainable energy-powered tech, environmental cities, and wicked cool aesthetics.
A lot of people seem to share a vision of futuristic tech and architecture that looks a lot like an ipod – smooth and geometrical and white. Which imo is a little boring and sterile, which is why I picked out an Art Nouveau aesthetic for this.
With energy costs at a low, I like to imagine people being more inclined to focus their expendable income on the arts!
Aesthetically my vision of solarpunk is very similar to steampunk, but with electronic technology, and an Art Nouveau veneer.
So here are some buzz words~
Tailors and dressmakers!
Stained glass window solar panels!!!
Education in tech and food growing!
Less corporate capitalism, and more small businesses!
Solar rooftops and roadways!
Communal greenhouses on top of apartments!
Electric cars with old-fashioned looks!
No-cars-allowed walkways lined with independent shops!
Renewable energy-powered Art Nouveau-styled tech life!
Can you imagine how pretty it would be to have stained glass windows everywhere that are actually solar panels? The tech is already headed in that direction! Or how about wide-brim hats, or parasols that are topped with discreet solar panel tech incorporated into the design, with ports you can stick your phone charger in to?

i am so into this wow
sign me the fuck up
I want a solarpunk future. *_*
SOLARPUNK OH MY GODDDDDD i love it
CURVY ORGANIC LINES, REFLECT NATURE, FLORALS VEGETATION, UGHHHH I WANT IT
